Why Are Slip Resistant Shoes So Important?

Slip resistant shoes may have sounded like a contradiction in terms, but this doesn’t have to be the case. While there are many EverFlex slip resistant shoes on the market, they are all designed for a particular purpose. And although most are designed to be fashionable, a casual look can also be accomplished with some slip resistant shoes. Slip resistant footwear is a term that is regularly tossed around in conjunction with suede and leather, but it is often misleading. Slip resistant shoes don’t necessarily need to be water-resistant or stain proof, and they don’t necessarily have to be leather either.

The shoes most often associated with slip resistant shoes are those designed to provide traction on slippery surfaces. There is a huge variety of slip resistant shoes out there, but the first thing you should look for is whether the soles have an interlocking hook system. This is very important as the interlocking hook system provides much more grip on slippery surfaces than just a flat sole will do.

One type of EverFlex slip resistant shoes that many people think of when they talk about slip resistant footwear is a leather or suede slip resistant work shoe. These shoes provide the best grip because of the interlocking hook system. But even work shoes can benefit from some slip resistant technology. For example, waterproof shoes tend to lack the grip of their water-resistant counterparts, but suede and leather are excellent choices if you want the benefits of slip resistance without the disadvantages of water resistance.

Another option is to get a pair of slip-resistant shoes with an extra piece of rubber between the shoe’s top and bottom. This additional piece of rubber is typically used in the tongue and heel area of the shoe, as this adds extra traction for a safer walk. If you need to wear a safety shoe while working, it’s good to have the rubber sole’s added reinforcement in place to give your feet some added bite into the ground.

Finally, there is one more type of EverFlex slip resistant shoes that you might be interested in. A well designed, quality pair of running or walking shoes will often feature a midsole with either grooves or cutouts to help wade through puddles and slip or fall. The grooves provide increased grip on the surface of the ground, making it harder to slip and make it less likely that you will take a spill. The smooth sole on a quality pair of running or walking shoes has even been known to stop many falls!

Slip resistant shoes don’t have to cost the earth. You don’t necessarily have to spend a lot of money to get good traction on slippery surfaces. Just spend a little time shopping around and finding the right shoe for the job. If you’re serious about avoiding accidents on the road, you should choose the best footwear for the task rather than the cheapest. When slip resistant shoes are chosen well, they can last a long time, saving you money in the long run.
